New Home Inspection
5 Important Reasons a New Construction Inspection is Essential
Protect your investment
Protect your investment with a new construction inspection. Learn why it’s crucial to have an expert evaluate your new home before you move in.
A newly constructed home can be an exciting experience, but it’s important to remember that even new homes can have defects or issues that need to be addressed.
Let’s explore a few of the benefits of a new construction inspection and why it’s a smart investment.
Identify any defects or issues with the construction of the home. Even new homes can have problems, such as faulty wiring, plumbing issues, or structural defects. By having an expert inspect the home before you move in, you can identify any issues early on.
Another important reason to have a new construction inspection is to ensure that the home is built in compliance with all relevant building codes and regulations. Building codes are in place to ensure that homes are safe and structurally sound, and failing to comply with these codes can result in serious safety hazards.
One of the most important reasons is to avoid potential safety hazards. Building a home involves many complex systems, including electrical, plumbing, and HVAC. If any of these systems are not installed correctly, it can lead to serious safety hazards such as electrical fires, gas leaks, or carbon monoxide poisoning. An expert inspector will be able to identify any potential safety hazards and ensure that they are addressed before you move in.
The Peace of Mind it provides. By having an expert evaluate your new home before you move in, you can rest assured that your home is safe and sound. The inspector will check for any potential safety hazards, such as faulty wiring or structural issues, and ensure that everything is up to code. This can help prevent costly repairs down the line and give you confidence in your investment.
Save you money in the long run.
While a new construction inspection may seem like an additional expense,
it can actually save you money in the long run. An inspector can
identify any potential issues with the home before they become major
problems, allowing you to address them before they become costly
repairs. Additionally, if any issues are found during the inspection,
you may be able to negotiate with the builder to have them fixed before
closing on the home. This can save you thousands of dollars in repair
costs down the line.

as well as any other roof penetrations. - Electrical systems are checked for:
branch circuits, service entrance and panels, connected devices and fixtures,
smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, as well as ensuring outlets are GFCI-protected. - Plumbing systems are inspected for:
water supply systems, fixtures and faucets, drain, water heater, vents, waste and vent systems, flues and chimneys, and any sump pumps or fuel storage and distribution systems. - Heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems are also inspected, including:

What we Don’t Report On
It’s also important to understand what a home inspection is not.
– First and foremost, it is not a technically exhaustive process. Inspectors do not dismantle systems in order to fully assess their condition.
– Additionally, while thermal imaging can provide some insight, most inspectors do not have X-ray vision and cannot see behind inside systems or walls.
– Finally, a home inspection is not a report on every minor cosmetic issue in a home, but rather a comprehensive evaluation of its overall condition. Inspectors focus on major deficiencies that could impact the safety or functionality of the home.
At LAGOS-SEA Home Inspections we leave no stone un-turned in our inspection process to provide you with the most comprehensive report on the condition of your home.
