flashing, patios, driveways, grading, surface drainage, walkways, decks, trim, wall coverings, garages and associated systems.
- The roofing system is inspected for:
roof coverings, drainage systems, flashings and skylights, chimneys,
as well as any other roof penetrations.
- Electrical systems are checked for:
branch circuits, service entrance and panels, connected devices and fixtures,
smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, as well as ensuring outlets are GFCI-protected.
- Plumbing systems are inspected for:
water supply systems, fixtures and faucets, drain, water heater, vents, waste and vent systems, flues and chimneys, and any sump pumps or fuel storage and distribution systems.

What we Don’t Report On
It’s also important to understand what a home inspection is not.
– First and foremost, it is not a technically exhaustive process. Inspectors do not dismantle systems in order to fully assess their condition.
– Additionally, while thermal imaging can provide some insight, most inspectors do not have X-ray vision and cannot see behind inside systems or walls.
– Finally, a home inspection is not a report on every minor cosmetic issue in a home, but rather a comprehensive evaluation of its overall condition. Inspectors focus on major deficiencies that could impact the safety or functionality of the home.
